Kampits, Eva I.
Dr. Kampits is Executive Director of MDS, Inc. She consults and develops resources for educators, practitioners and policy leaders concerned with strengthening education at all levels (kindergarten through university) both regionally and globally. Since 2001 she has been a foreign consultant to China’s Ministry of Education (NCCT) and since 2012, to the Yuecheng Education Foundation (China). Dr. Kampits was a director at the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. for 17 years (1994-2011). Kampits has over three decades of experience in varied roles beginning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by service as a chief academic officer of a liberal arts college. A graduate of Harvard College, she holds a Ph.D. from Boston College. Over the past decade, she has increasingly spoken at forums or published articles for international policy and education leaders, including Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Harvard’s School of Education. Appointed to various regional and national boards including chairing the Massachusetts Educational Advisory Committee by the governor, the New England Regional Computing Association, NERComP as President (1985-1991) and founder of the NERComP Journal of Computing in Higher Education (1991-2004), she currently serves as a Director of the Certified Financial Planners Board (Washington, D.C.) and The Boston Architectural College (MA) as past trustee and overseer emerita. She is a recipient of Harvard University’s Albert H. Gordon ’23 Award (2011) and Harvard’s Joseph R. Hamlen ’04 Award (2008).
